It's a bit like luxo car manufacturers, a BMW will always be a BMW, but a Lexus is only a Toyota.................  :P
And a Cadillac is what, a dolled up chevy?

Yep.  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Didn't I tell you Jerry? It's running sweet, no clickety click from the F2 cam and pistons located in K6 head and cylinders, so at least I know that's "do-able". (well, so far so good)

As the K6 head doesn't have exhaust studs like the later engines, I've used 8mm stainless allen head bolts, and the only problem I've encountered so far is that I need to further modify the exhaust flange "shims"(?) to clear the threaded lugs on the K6 head, so at this stage there's a little leakage, but other wise it's a very simple conversion, and it's oil tight! Cheers, Terry. ;D

No, not that one Paul, just F2 pistons and cam in a K6 head and cylinders.  ;D

Interesting.  Fill us in on the details please Terry(or tell me if you've told us about it somewhere else and I'll look it up).  Are those pistons domed?  Any idea what your compression ratio is?  I haven't cracked open my F yet, and am really interested in what you've done there.

No worries mate, yeah, they are domed pistons and it's got plenty of compression (measured with my right boot) but I'll start another thread on it once I know it's not gonna blow up, ha ha! ;D

I wonder what really happened.

Seller saw it sitting there at $142 and didn't like the idea of selling it for that. High bid was like $170 so one snipe wouldn't help much.

It probably didn't amuse him to log on in the morning a few days ago and see it there at $3.50 either. Wonder how that happened.

I did have a thread going but it bogged down over a "technical disagreement" so I deleted the thread, but I'll start another one soon, with all the pics I took for the first thread. Cheers, Terry. ;D

I been thinking about this thread..

I have to admit, you guys are right >:(

I don't think we should help people that ask questions on here, just for the fact that they may sell the bike, and suck our knowledge out of us..

Or even far worse, they may use the advice to repair their bike!! This is really bad in 2 major ways, maybe even more!

#1 They make their bike in much better condition that they found it, then the value goes up, and we cant buy bikes as easily.. WE MUST STOP THIS!!

#2 Every time someone repairs or fixes something, that they could not solve themselves, it take food from the table of those in the repairs and maintenance field!! They & their families are suffering.. >:(

Again, WE MUST STOP THIS..

I am truly sorry that I contributed to the problem..

I'm one of the ones that made the original 3.50 joke.  I didn't make a joke to insult the guy's bike or to insult him.  It was obviously a joke and I fully expected him and everybody else to have a chuckle and then suggest a real idea on the value (which I did a couple posts later).  It isn't like we told him to screw - we just carried a joke from the Von Dutch thread over to this one.  He didn't get the joke, but it wasn't all that insulting, either way.

What got the flaming started was this guy getting offended and insisting on 'real answers or STFU'.

Different forums have personalities and characters - you come onto an established forum and it's your job to either figure the character of the place out, and act like a guest.
Coming onto an established forum and getting pissed 'cause people aren't posting the way you want them too is like going into someone else's house and telling them how they should clean their kitchen.

I agree.  Thank you for pointing out this terrificly astute observation.  I can't think of why nobody else has presented such perfectly reasonable rationale.  But, do we just stop posting altogether?  Find another forum more in line with our ideals?  Or, just post about people's undesirable behavior in the tech forums?
