I dunno.. Triumph does that by hiding the fuel injectors and throttle position sensors in old craburetor castings.. Keeps the classic look with modern technology. Judging from the looks of the new bike, I think the oil filter housing is the only part that would swap out...
If they came out with the "new" cb750, I'd buy one. On the days I don't want to wait for the carbureted engine to warm up, want better brakes, better headlight, an electrical system that has plenty of room of other items... True, back in the day, the CB750 was tops in almost every category, but hopefully in today's historical context it will (as Robert Plant described Led Zeppelin's approach to "modernized" blues) "translate and kick on" the spirit of the original machine. My fear would be that by the time the prototype filters down to a production bike, some of the neatness will be lost.
