Quick fuel line question
« on: April 07, 2008, 07:02:57 PM »
Hi all, I'm wondering what's the best setup for connecting the fuel lines to the petcock (I have the one with dual fuel lines). Whenever I go to pull my fuel tank and or carbs it's always a pain in the ass to get those little clips and fuel hoses off it's so tight in there...thx in advance.

I never used the clips....I stuck to tie wraps. Sure, ya gotta replace em when you cut the off but it was a heck of alot easier!

You can use small hose clamps in place of the clips too... ;)

I clamp the carb end, but leave the petcock end unclamped.  I've never had a problem.  I also replace the fuel lines every 2 years, so they tend to stay supple.  Motion Pro clear line works best and my local M/C shop stocks it!  Quarter-inch on the float bowl drains and 3/8 on the petcock.
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Ditto. My 550 has been this way for the past 22 years with no problems!   :P
