Clutch break in
« on: August 12, 2005, 11:56:27 AM »
I just put in new Barnett friction plates in my CB500 because of a slipping problem.  There were no instructions on break in procedures with the clutch plates or in my bike manual.  Are there any precautions to be taken with new friction plates??

Mind you, have never replaced a clutch, but I've read the plates should to be soaked in oil for some time prior to installation, but you probably knew this already.

Yes, I soaked the plates in oil prior to installation.

Thanks.
