Its alive!
« on: April 04, 2008, 08:14:16 PM »
I just started it today. Runs great. I have had it for about two weeks, had to pull the carbs and clean them. I took them apart one at a time they were all brown and every whole in the carbs were cloged. It took me two days to complete the job but it's done and runs great.

Looks like a very clean ride.  Good job on the carbs!

it was garaged for about six years. I am the second owner. all I need now is a battery, new side covers and a little bit of electrical repair and it will be on the road, hopefully by next weekend.

nice ride-
a couple things:
how's the tank?  would be a shame to run rust or grime through those carbs- inline filters can be a stopgap, spanky tank preferable.
and in the interest of keeping things upright- if those aren't new tires check them for six years of dry rot.  if you cant dig a fingernail in they're too hard- and they will hurt you.  tire sizes for your bike and even brand reviews can be found in these forums.  ;D

happy trails and good luck

new front tire and the rear is in great shape but i really want mags or alum. rims for it just for the plugability and low maintanance.
