New old stock
« on: April 06, 2008, 05:46:49 PM »
I've been gone so long an introduction is probably in order.  The '79 650 has spent a good amount of time in the shed for the past few years.  It's was spiffied up and a few attempts made to sell it, but nobody wants it (around here, at least), so the wife has been informed that it's going to be a permanent resident of the garqge.  This spring I've been riding it more than the CBR, renewing an old friendship and wondering why the CBR got all the attention.   Now me: I'm late middle aged (64) retired, been riding for 38 or 39 years, Honda the whole way.  From a CL350 that I'd love to have another one of, to a CB500 to a CB650 to a CBR1000F.  This site helped me out tremendously, and I like to think I made a few contributions.  So, hi everyone.  I'm back.

I loved that bike, my first.  Rode it all over northwestern Montana, then sold it and moved up the displacement scale.  Now it would the ideal bike for buzzin around town, and the gentle back roading I like.  Maybe someday.  I do know where there's an SL350 sitting in a shed, but the owner won't turn loose of it.  Ah well, maybe someday.
