Topic: will MEK eat bondo?

I just got my tank back from primer but the liner on the inside is flaking off. I am going to run an in line filter. My tank has holes rusted through it and I am worried that if I put MEK in the tank it will eat its way through and I will again have a leaking tank.

I'd say your worries are well founded.

However if you don't get the liner out the new liner will not stick.

If you don't line it you'll have gas leaking and eating the paint.

Probably should have cleaned/lined before the primer.

I tried. Had the tank sitting in an acid bath for at least two weeks. I used a power washer in side and out but not everything came out and there is still some peeling liner inside.
