I need to check whats up with my tensioner as my chain rattles a bit below 1500RPM. Can I work with the tensioner which seems to be located under the Crank from through the oil pan? Can I replace the tensioner through the oil pan?

Are you sure it's the cam chain, or possibly the clutch basket? Disengage the clutch at idle, if the noise goes away it is the clutch basket that is making the noise. The last time I changed my head gasket ( same bike as yours) I forgot to tighten the cam chain slack adjuster at the rear of the head and when I started the bike It made a constant noise regardless of the rpm.
