i finally found AND won a factory ignition switch mount on ebay lats month (the 15th) and on the 18th i sent the money order (he didnt accept paypal) and now here i sit still with no parts. should i start messaging this guy asking about my parts or give him a little more time? this is the first time i think that i've had to wait this long for something to arrive. and it's  the very last part i ordered and am still waiting on

Start action asap. The problem with the 'system' is that you only have 45 days to make a complaint to eBay. So if the seller keeps saying "It's in the mail" and you believe them you can end up with NO product and NO recourse.

I bought a pair of boots on December 3, paid for them immediately, and am still waiting for them to show. The seller is very uncommunicative and actually sent me a note saying that it was his business and he would do what he likes.....when I suggested that we try to work something out. Now that too much time has passed I cannot even leave negative feedback.

It's reached the point where I feel like broadcasting a warning about the sellers business.

I would at least send him a message.  I do not think it is rude to find out the status of your parts, especially since it has been this long.  I usually give the seller a few days and if I dont hear anything I send them a message.

edit - I am like Nick, you only get 45 days.  So if you start early there is less chance of getting screwed.  If you send him a message and he doesnt reply in a few days send him another one stating if he doesnt respond within a couple of days after your second email you will start filing for a refund and will leave feedback stating what happened..  You can also put a tracker on it to see if he has read it.  If he doesnt respond within a week file a dispute so you dont get screwed and leave negative feedback.

If someone doesnt have the time to answer a buyer about their purchase then they have no business selling stuff.

If he doesn't cough up, let him know that you will tell everyone you know here about his bad practice and we in turn will spread it across other bike forums.

Yeah, it's too bad that you can't simply do a deal on ebay, pay for it and get it in a reasonable time. ::) I haven't had any dealings like that, yet. I'd be asking about the status of the part too.

                              Later on, Bill ;)

well, i asked the ship date and all he told me is "all my shipping was delayed due to  afamily emergency, you should get it today or tomorrow." we'll see, i understand about family emergencies, so he has another day or 2 before i get a bit less pleasant.

Now hat you mention it, I HAVE had one similar to that. He asked me to be patient and he's get the part out ASAP and he DID just that. Hopefully your's will turn out well too! ;)

Post a link. Perhaps we can have "A FEW" of us email and ask him to send our friend's part. Sounds like someone I dealt with before that had family problems, moved shop, etc. The 45 day limit passed on the first item I ordered but I burned him on the second one since it still had a few days left.

if i hadnt been looking as long as i had been for this part i would have never purchased from this guy. but i lost on several auctions for one and, well, i didnt want to wait to find another. it appears that these things are rarer than hens teeth on ebay most of the time.

Wow!  Just looked at the seller's feedback.  That's way too many "mutual withdraws", neutrals and negatives.

I'm not saying you shouldn't expect to get the part that you paid for, and in a timely manner, but by bidding on one of his auctions, you're basically asking for trouble.

Fuzzy,

PM the link to me. Let's not smear him yet. I'll get in touch with him. I'm off on Thursday. Terry and I have done business with him. Terry wasn't real pleased with his shipping. Asked for insurance money when his ad stated it was included. I picked up Terry's stuff and mailed it out myself. I have his name, phone number, and I know where his shop is. Really seems to be a nice guy just slow and perhaps not the most astute businessman. He may not have broken the bike down at the time. I need to check in with him anyway about a set of CR33's.
