Hmmmm.....have you noticed many of the changes to ebay have not taken care of bad sellers lately?

In spite of what they're stating publicly, they're not trying to get rid of the bad sellers.  They're more concerned with getting rid of the small sellers in an effort to become more of an on-line retailer like Amazon.

They have chased me away.  We had NCAA playoff tickets we couldn't use.  We had only bought from ebay until then.  They made us upgrade to accept PayPal(an extra 3%), and when the tickets sold, they froze our account until we could prove the tickets were ours.  We got our money in the end, but after the games.  Part of the "confirmation" was statements from the buyer.  All they would have to do was lie, and they could have seen the games for free, and we would have lost our money.  It all worked out, but the chances were probably 50/50 that they wouldn't.  NEVER AGAIN!

I was gearing up to get rid of some stuff in my basement(sorry, no motorcycle stuff).  I will be looking into Craigslist.

I suspect that for every person who has had a bad experience on eBay there are a dozen who have never had any. Look at the feedback of some of the power sellers.....thousands, with no negatives. Still, it only takes one bad experience to leave a stale taste in the mouth.

Unfortunately I am in the midst of said experience. Actually spoke to the seller yesterday (I'm in BC, he's in SC) and he basically said that as long as he posted the item it's out of his hands. Problem is he was supposed to send a scan of the postage confirmation and still hasn't. This has been dragging on since December. I'll give him another week to be more helpful, then (in the immortal words of Mr.Burns) I'll "release the hounds". Start exercising your bounty-hunter-typing-fingers, boys and girls.

PS. Sorry to hijack the thread.

It's one thing to be screwed by a seller and have ebay do nothing, and another thing to be screwed by ebay, or screwed with.  But both will drive people away.
