2008 must be the year of the bike fire....
« on: April 07, 2008, 08:08:08 PM »
My roomate has had two close calls with his harley now...the first time the bikes ignition harness shorted out and caught fire as he was riding due to improper routing and the use of too small of wire for that task. Now just this past weekend the bike exploded as him and his dad were test starting the bike after it came back from the shop that did the wiring initially and redid it after the fire...

heres some pics of the carnage...

I'd go down to that shop a wring a few necks

I’m sure they charged him for this mess too.

754: Its a 75

Jimmy: this is the second time the bike caught fire..the first time was due to a poor wiring job done by the shop that did my front forks on my VF. My roommate took the bike back to be repaired properly..initially they refused to redo their mess without charging him again...however my roommate went down there and talked to him...lets just say he "convinced" them to fix their mistake..this fire was caused by what appears to be a poor carb rebuild...also done by the same shop....
