Oil Dipstick temp gauge

anyone know if a Oil temp Dipstick exists for the CB750 mine is the 77' if that makes a difference! and i did search all over the net and here and did not find anything.

There was an after-market one available for the DOHC models, I bought one on EBay with the intention of somehow fitting it in the oil tank cap (It has it's own dipstick) on one of my CB750 "K" bikes, but gave up after not much efort due to the design of the cap.

It'd be easier with an "F" oil tank though, as it has just a threaded plastic cap, so the oil temp guage could probably just thread into it once you drilled and tapped it for the appropriate thread. Cheers, Terry. ;D

well thats why i specified i have a 77' with a THREADED dipstick like HD's and later bikes....

so anyone???

can you post pics of the install (IE gauge and sensor?) and were did you find a sensor?

Sensor was there already- PO fitted the bike with third dial, so i just chucked it out. Anyway - now its night in europe as i read this, but since tomorrow is the "wash your bike day" I will do the pics and post them here.

You can buy all sorts of temp sensors guys, I also make oil coolers for Suzuki GS750-1150's, the early GS1000S had an oil temp guage and I was able to find a box of them at a swap meet a few years ago, and offered them as an option for my Suzy cooler adapters and guys were fitting all manner of guages.

I personally prefer the dipstick guage I mentioned in my first post though, much simpler............  ;D

Saw this post on Sunday, so  I ran out and took an Harley oil bag that is being repainted at the house and compared it too a 1975 F model super sport and it doesn't work. On the other hand my old style (large mouth cap) oil bag will hold a Harley oil temp gauge as described. My harley style oil bag plug with dip stick will slide into the 750 oil bag, but I wont lock down. A nice compression fitting. I will probably run one, when I use that tank

Shure, front and center. put a rule (pref. in cm not inch) next to it.
