         Now, of the newer bikes, I wouldn't mind taking a "Busa" for a run, where I could cut it loose without fear of the fuzz nailing me. And, on THAT note I have to wonder, if a "Busa" is SOOOOO fast, what would it be like to ride one with one of those V8 Motors that I've heard about?

          Yeah, there are 2 that I'm aware of (maybe more), the one under the Norton name and the RE5 Suzuki. Never ridden one myself. I've got a buddy who's restored 2 of those though and ended up selling them on ebay for a pretty good price.

          Yeah, that's an interesting mix.   Gotta wonder what it would be like to ride a bike with an automotive V8 motor. Nothing against Chevrolet, but I'd want a 426 Hemi or a 440 6pk in mine

Well, I'd ride most anything that had two-wheels and a motor, but one I'd really like to ride is one I watched some of my boyhood heros ride, the Harley KR-750:

           You are right, I knew there was at least on more and could not think of it.   Thanks for jogging my memory there.


            As for those who ride a Wankel, I'm not touching that one.

just read about one in the newest issue of cycle world i would love to throw a leg over and thats the crocker from the 1930's. they ran 15mph faster than any harley or indian of the time. in fact, the owner of the company promised any crocker owner that got beat in a race by one of milwaukees or springfields finest his (or her) money returned in full.

           Thanks for posting that fuzzy, I've heard of and seen photos of them, but didn't really know much about them. They might be fast, but Indian held several records back in those days.   Next time I talk to my Dad, probably tomorrow, I'll see what his memories are concerning them. Main ones he has mentioned, as far as competition for the Indians were the H-D and Triumphs.

         Anyone ever looked at a book (or online) and seen what is supposed to be ALL the the brands of motorcycles that were ever made? I've looked in some and, if they were ALL still being made, we'd be overrun with them! I could not believe ALL the different brands and the names of them. I thought I'd heard of about every brand that there was and I wasn't even close.

           What about the C & CA110s? I remember there were a good number of those back in the 60's.  But, if I were to want a Honda that was smaller than a 250, it'd have to be a Benly 125 Super Sport.

          That was the very first Honda I saw. I had gone with my Dad to Newport Arkansas (I was in Junior High School) to see a race and saw one racing around the track. It sounded beautiful (much like a very well tuned sports car). While he was doing some practice laps, he spun out and killed the motor. Imagine my surprise when, as he picked it up, it started running again and he was off again! Hence, my first encounter of the electric starter! When I was sent to Japan (while in the USAF), I tried to find one and I did, but it was priced way too high for an Airman First Class.   Saw a 250 version of that once, can't remember where it was now!
