my78k- I have to say thank you for posting this,I hadn't looked at Craigs yet,any way thanks..........I picked it up today,it's a 74 with no title,its rough BUT,Lester mags,lockhart cooler,Rickman fairing,rearsets,cafe seat,fork kit,glass fender,stainless lines,Mullholland shocks,air hornsQuartz headlight,......the motor will NOT kick over,BUT,has elec ignition,Dyna coils,Yosh,cam,pistons,cam chain,balanced crank,polish and ported,barnett clutch,..........some one spent alot of time and money on this thing and than just let it sit outside,it was not plated since 87,

I am not quit sure,some of the parts I will use for my 78 550k semi-restore,I would like to try to get the motor unstuck and than maybe make some plans,as of right now I am just stripping things down,...........BUT I might be open to suggestions

why not take the engine from your 78 and throw it into that bike? well that or track down a 650 engine and throw it in that one...seems too sweet to be torn down never to be seen in its glory again..

Darkrider ....good thought but I prefer original,than cafe....different strokes for different folks .....as long as they are 4-strokes.......also it would not be just an engine swap there is alot of ageing(rust)and neglect............

Dude@!!!! Nice Score,

If you're going to restore it could I please PLEASE talk you into sending the fairing my way in exchange for something you may need ( I have lotsa parts ) or some cash?

I've been looking for a rickman fairing for about a year now that wouldn't cost more than my bike...

Looks like something good to start with.  If you end up stripping & selling parts, I would be interested in a few.  Did you say Yosh cam?  mmmmmmm. :P  I'd be intersted in those rearsets too.

No worries man! That's why I posted it here...and why I didn't want it to fade into the classified section.

I am even more gald that it turned out to be an even better find than first thought.

I am only about 20 minutes west of you so when you get it restored (or picked clean for your other build) it would be great to see it...Always looking for an excuse to go for a ride and I do have a bit of a curious nature...
