The earthquake
« on: April 18, 2008, 05:40:42 AM »
Anyone feel the 5.4 early this morning? Wondering how far spread the effect was felt.
Tame by California standards, but unusal for here in Missouri.

Some parts of the western suburbs of Cleveland felt it.  I, however, remained fast asleep.

woke me up in lexington ky, I had one window cracked in the bedroom and it started rattling.  I got up to close the window so it wouldn't wake up my fiancee.  Laid back down and the damn thing was still rattling.  I said screw it and rolled over.  Didn't know it was a quake until I got to work.

We felt it here in Terre Haute, IN.  I've never experienced an earth quake before so it was kind of strange.

The local weather guy in Green Bay, WI said he felt it while at his weather desk early this AM.  Seems weird it could be felt that far away???

I knew it was an earthquake before I woke up, Iwas on my feet and half way across the house before I was fully alert, you see I grew up in Alaska and lived on the west coast most of my life, quakes are no joke. Anyone not familiar with the '64 quake in Alaska should read up on it, I know there was another severe quake in the states since then but that happened in California, besides Alaska has bigger ones ;D ;D
