I got a sealed beam headlight for my 75 cb750 from honda last week. i wanted to keep the bike stock, and i read in the forum that  motorcycle and car sealedbeams were different. honda charged me $26 dollars for it ,it came in a honda box.when i opened the box the headlight had GE 6014 on it. today i went to a auto parts store looking for a fuse for my bike, they had a GE 6014 for $4.85. what a ripoff!

Genuine "Motorcycle" parts are usually a rip-off fom my vast experience.  Except of course for clothing and helmets.  I hope that the headlight you got is halogen.  The original is not much good for seeing after dark!  The original from mine is sitting in my garage should I decide to restore it some day, right next to the air filter, voltage regulator and other parts I replaced with improved components.

Don't get me wrong, sometimes Honda actually surprises you with their prices.

the only diff between a motorcycle headlight and a car light is one of them is a 3 lug locating lamp and the other uses a 2 lug lamp.i disremember which one uses which.

Not.

Actually that remindfs me. I saw a bike the other day and the guy had the headlight fitted at 90Degs.
I'd like to see that in the dark.

Hi, I recently changed my headlight with a H6024 from GE. The light pattern is sliightly different, but, its much brighter than the original Stanley light bulb. The main difference in design is the internal filiment is smaller and weaker in a auto headlight when compared to a M/C light, therefore may burn out sooner. Many posts on this site lists folks with this same bulb for over 3 yrs without problems. Hope this helps. Dr Mark
