hammered look paint

has anyone used the hammered look paint on a tank....I was asking about wrinkle but someone pondered a good question....wonder if it would look cool.

I have used it on a lot of radio cabinets. It's difficult to get an even hammer tone on a flat surface. IMO it could turn out nice on a tank. Buy some and try on flats and maybe an old fire extinguisher or some large dia pipe. You'll learn how it applies. It takes a little getting used to.

he he that was me pondering, I have been wondering it too for a while. Man if someone could master masking it and doing multiple colors like the flames i said earlier or maybe tribal pattern. ooohhhhh that would be long island iced tea nice. :P :P ;D ;D ;D

just went out and got the paint ....i am going with copper and a flat black accent and seeing how it turns out ...keeping my fingers crossed it looks badass.

go for it brother, bring back some pics with ya. I am getting ready to do a paint jobby on mine and if yours comes out good i am thinkin i might do something like this too.

I've used hammered look before on a project unrelated to bikes.  I was very pleased with the results, was going for an aged steel look and thats just what I got.  The paint seemed to adhere well and was reasonably durable, but this was not a high-wear application (costume pieces for one of my sons).

Do post pics, I'm interested in seeing the results.

^^^ yes. I have seen this as a selection at a coaters shop. It had a slight texture to it as well.
