Moving to Ann Arbor!
« on: July 07, 2008, 04:26:26 PM »
I am a 550-wannabe (have a bike that was a brake caliper away from road-ready in boxes now) moving to Ann Arbor, MI (U of M grad student).  It's my first time living outside of NJ, although I love the city and the civility of the Mid-west.  Anyway, just wanted to hear from other SOHC owners to get me motivated to continue the project when I get to Michigan (later this week).  Just trying to get a list of resources going again after a few years of making contacts in NJ, so if anyone has information on good local places for things like media blasting, powder coating, etc, I would love to hear it.  Thanks again, and hope to see you soon on the roads!

Welcome to the City of Trees.. er, well there are fewer of them since the Ash Borer started dining anyway. Can't help with finishers, but Nicholson's west of town on Jackson Rd. is pretty good with parts ordering should you need them.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

Welcome to Ann Arbor!  If you make it here by Friday, check out the Rolling Sculpture car show.  Several downtown streets get blocked off from 2-10 pm.
