My CB350F Project Bike
« on: April 12, 2008, 01:08:27 PM »
Here are some pics of my bike as it stands today. All that is left to be done is finish up the wiring plumb the fuel line, change out the front tire and then  send it back to the paint shop to have the frame touched up with an air brush and have the front dust covers and headlight ears painted. It should be on the road next Friday and I have entered it in the Walnecks show on the 20th in Woodstock.

Now the details: 1973 CB350F Olive green metallic (modernized take on the factory paint) all logos are paint not decals
- MAC 4 into One Exhaust
- Dyna S Ignition with  3om coils and Accel 8mm wires
- Black and White Custom Seat with '99 european bonnivlle seat cowl (custom reglassed to fit)
- Web Cam (Hot street, cafe racer.) cam
- K&N Filters
- Woodcraft GSX-R 600 Adjustable Rearsets
- Custom Rear passenger pegs
- Custom Oil Cooler
- Inverted Superbike bars (better for my back)
- All Custom Lighting
- Vintage Finned Everything

and now the pics:

Let me know what you think.

VERY NICE  ;D ;D

How did the web cam installation go? I'm about to install one myself (grind #2) and was wondering what kind of valve to piston tolerance I should expect. Also, did you have to slot the cam gear to get it timed right?

I like the green guage housings too.

Honestly I had a professional do all of the internal engine work, but it must have gone smoothly because he did not say anything about it being a problem.

Jerrad

That's the smart way to do it  :D

I love tinkering with engines, so I'm doing it myself with the aid of a machinist.

I'm going to be running pretty much the same set up; Web Cam & Mac 4-1, but I'm sticking with the stock airfilter (for now  ;)), maybe K&N pods later on. How does the engine perform with this set up? did you have to change the jetting much from stock?

I'm going to be running a ported head with my cam when I'm done.... Can't wait to see how it performs  8)

 Cheers, Matt.

I planned on jetting it but when we were done the bike ran perfect and even more perfect without the baffle in the pipe so I guess I will do a couple of plug chops and see if I really even need to. Things may change once the air around here gets warmer but for now I am not going to change a thing.

That's really a nice looking project.  I have some Vortex (CBR929RR) rearsets that would mount just like yours, but I can't quite see how you did it.  I think I see some spacers in there, but can't tell if they're welded in place or not.

the seat cowl looks like it doesn't fit.  i know, i'm the only negative comment.  i'm a huge dick.

everything else though is very clean and looks pretty good. heavy, but with the extra power it should be fine.  good work!

I didn't know the cb350's charging system could handle 3.0ohm coils.
Great looking project, though.
No.
