RR different question
« on: April 11, 2005, 02:23:54 PM »
I went through a lot of posts regarding the regulator rectifier for a '81 CB650C Custom but I haven't found an answer to my question(s):
Does anybody know how the "brush wires" on the RR (the black and white wire going to the brushes) are connected internally to the RR ?
Where or how does it get the voltage going to the rotor ?

Thanks and happy riding,
       J

The only thing I can help you with is a coloured wiring diagram:

Thanks for the reply... even though that is not exactly what I'm looking for the pic is very useful. My Haynes manual only has it in black and white.... Very nice to have it in color...
Thanks,  J

PS: The Haynes manual only shows the diodes internal to the RR but nothing about he wires for the brushes.

And one more:

Yeah, we're getting closer.... That second picture, showing the charging system, is almost what I want. Is there any info out there that shows a diagram of what's inside the "magic box" (on the picture) where the black and white wire connect ?
I assume the black wire connects to ground ??

Thanks,    J

These diagrams are the only diagrams in the Clymer manual. The Haynes manual have got only one of them. I don't have the Honda workshop manual for the bike, so I don't know if there is any more in that manual.

This is what I found on the Electrexusa.com website:
