Wonderful views and nice that you found a better carb adjustment.
It makes a huge difference when it idles even and run clean when slowly increase the throttle at take offs and low speed rides in the city. Very relaxing well worth a burger beside a good road somewhere.

Looks like a great ride. I am headed out in a couple weeks for a week-long ride, probably to Montana.  Your photos make me itching to get going after the long hiatus.

Quick question:

Changing the petcock on my K2 but the screw gaskets are too small - or is it me? I think part number may be wrong

Same with my fiber gaskets. I had to massage them inside with a new sharp 6mm drill, manually, not on a machine.
EDIT: I used an M6 tap, not drill.

I replaced X- heads with allen, much easier to tighten.

All my 3 tanks got that, all do not leak with fuel, petcock off no hoses connected.

The K4 had a good ride this weekend: 1010 mile round trip to Winter Harbor ME. The bike ran amazingly well. First it was high speed on the highway out of Boston to Miss Wakefields Diner in Wakefield NH then a spirited ride up through Evans Notch, NH to Bethel ME. From here it was back roads that paralleled Rt2 then North from Dixfield up through Weld on Rt142 to Avon then Madison to Stetson. All empty backroads through the Maine wilderness. Finally it was dropping in to Bangor where we hit some afternoon traffic before finding quietness again on Rt180 south to dinner in Ellsworth before finally making it to Winter Harbor for sunset.

The next day it was North to Machias for breakfast and finally to Lubec/Canadian border and another visit to West Quoddy Head Lighthouse the most Easterly point on mainland US. We ended the day sampling pickled winkles in the Pickled Winkle pub in Winter Harbor/Schoodic Point.

Finally on Sunday it was time to head home: south on coastal Rt1 to Camden, ME then inland across small backroads to Avon, ME before heading south in NH to eventually find I-93 and home by 5pm ;).

In terms of how the CB750K4 ran and ergonomics it held its own against a modern day fuel-injected Triumph, a very comfortable touring Harley and a Suzuki Boulevard cruiser. The only place I got sore was due to the seat. The handlebars are Euro K1 bars which for me with long arms give perfect ergos. No running issues whatsover. Bike ran at all speeds with no issues/no vibration. Needs a new rear tire and thats about it ;) - have a new BT-20 I need to install.

Bike turned over 89,000 miles on this trip: now need just 400 more to make it to 90,000 so one more trip beckons...
cheers
Andy

Wonderful feeling to just enjoy the bike and have nice rides seeing places around! ;)

It can be a little bit too much wrenching and test rides time to time.

Very nice.  I will get out east one of these days and am looking forward to it because of your photos.  Maybe I'll bring the 750.  It seems to be running better than ever.  After hauling the Windjammer around for the last 40+ years, it is like a different bike without it.

Ok after years of having other people change my tires and I took all that info, looked at a lot of YouTube videos, bought the tore irons and I successfully changed my rear tire to a new Bridgestone BT-45, aired it up to seat the bead - tire holds air so no pinched tube!

My question is how to know if tire bead is seated correctly? It looks ok to my inexperienced eye but is there a simple test?

Next step is balancing it before installation and test ride.

thanks
Andy

Most tires will have small cast in rib near the edge of the rim.  Just check that rib is uniformly spaced from the edge of the rim all the way around
If it works good, it looks good...

When shifting tires, do not forget the tire assembly lube. It make it so much easier and let the tire to glide into right position on the rim. I bought a small bucket with it that will last for many tires.

I over inflate tire to force it right, 5 BAR, let the air out plus eventual once more.

I was in NH myself this weekend: at the Scottish Highland Games in Lincoln, NH.

Rode up from Boston as far as Concord then back roads from there all the way to Lincoln, NH. I went via Warren, NH site of the giant USA rocket (I had taken a pic of this a few years ago when I passed this way last time) and then over the mountain via Warren Road - a bumpy affair but great riding/views.

After getting my dose of Scottishness it was a ride west over another mountain to North Haverhill staying at a quirky guest house for the night. This place was built around 1800s and the town is from that era. Great New England history. In the morning I noticed my old rear tire was getting to the very end of its life...would it hold up the 200 mile ride home?  :-\

From Haverhill you can follow the river down all the way to Hanover/Dartmouth college then its all farm land and sweeping curves. Then take a left after Hanover and cross country via Acowrth all via some very interesting backroads. A mix of dirt/rough pavement and smooth pavement. My Hagon shocks performed wonderfully!

I have the same thing to consider, but I have about 700 to go. The rear tire (Tourance) on the GS is going away faster than previous ones I’ve had on there.

Great photos as always.
