I thought the 77 550k and the 78 550k were identical. but looking at a schematic drawing for the 77k .it shows the spout on the petcock exiting from the right side of the petcock. looking at my 78k there is no way there would be enough room for the spout to exit the side. It would hit the top of the carbs. can anyone with a 78 550k with a stock petcock tell me where the spout on the petcock exits from. the one on my bike exits from the rear but I don't know what model its off of and its leaking badly. Or if someone could tell me what model petcock will work on my bike that would be very helpful too. cheers ,Fergie.
