My dad's 88 and still driving. I check his car weekly for scrapes and/or other damage, but so far he seems to be managing OK.
I am aware that he has macular degeneration, and was concerned a couple of years ago when he had to go in for his eye exam as part of the process of renewing his license. After not hearing from him for a couple of days, I finally called him. I didn't have to go, he told me. They let me renew online without taking the eye test.
I'm glad for my dad, but WTF?? If some old geezer hit my car, and didn't have a clue as to what happened, I'd be sorely tempted to inflict bodily harm, or at least know that I was going to be adequately compensated by his estate, perhaps at the expense of his heirs, who should also be watching out for him/her. I hope 60k pounds buys a couple of new Porsches for those customers that lost their vehicles, as I wouldn't want my pristine car returned as extensively repaired. I'll keep checking my dad, but maybe I'll do so a couple of times a week now.
