Someone mentioned needing a van or pickup to fetch a purchase.  This wasn't a SOHC4, but it was an old Honda that my Healey hauled.  (It's hauled a lot since 1969 when I first got it!)

In fairness to me, that's the road at the side of my house. If you don't park on the kerb like that, you run the risk of losing the side of your car every time some muppet in a truck has to turn round after he's figured that our cul-de-sac isn't the cut through his sat-nav told him it was  ::)

http://summitracing.com/ these folks are pretty good as far as prices go. get the carb(s) sent to someone here in the states where they can then re-pack them and state that theyre gifts to your dad. that ought to work

NICE short-wheelbase longhood!!!  I want a longhood P-car so bad, but the prices are in the stratosphere, even for the more pedestrian T models, and the 912s are creeping up as well.  Forget about an S or even an E.

NICE WHEELS!!!

If it ain't air-cooled, it ain't cool.  ;D ;D ;D

PS: even if you didn't say anything, the doorhandles gave it away as a '68, though it appears someone shaved the '68-only side reflectors.  I LOVE these cars!!!

Heres my Wifes new car. 91 Cutlass convertible 53k miles. :o It wasnt "Found in a barn in Tennesee" but Covered in a garage of a retiree. I couldnt tell her no since it comes with 2" of receipts of all work and maitenance since the owner bought it new. Oh it has a red leather interior. And it was a good bit cheaper than a clean original 750. They claimed not of driven it in the rain? The undercarriage is very clean! Now she has a toy. Next up a 750! ;D

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

My first car, bought for a dollar from my cousin way back in high school. 1980 Subaru DL Wagon 4wd. Still my favorite, I'd get another one if I had the chance. Simplicity at it's finest. I've "upgraded" since then, though. Behold the '99 F150 4WD, 5" Rancho lift, 33" Mud King XT's, 5.4L V8, 4R70W 4 speed auto.

:( :( As a certifiable car dork, I wish I had some pictures to contribute, but I don't own anything worth taking a picture of anymore... My current ride is a 1993 isuzu rodeo. Blech.
Fortunately my very good friend (since 1st grade) is giving me his 1998 VW GTI VR6, cause my wife let him live with us for a few months while he was between jobs. As soon as I pick that up, I'll get some pics to share.

Previous cars:
1988 VW Jetta
1986 BMW 325es with h&r/bilstein suspension and reprogrammed DME
1989? VW Fox
1986 Camaro
1992 Eclipse GS
And..... (Wait for it)

^This was my all-time favorite, a pushbutton 426 Plymouth. Found it for sale INSIDE a tracctor-trailer box behind a junkyard back in 1988, the noise it made when I started it up inside that metal box was mind-boggling because it was running race-headers into straight cherry bombs.

Here's our brand new car! :)  2009 Nissan Versa, we just got it yesterday.

My wife's car got rear-ended when she was on her way to work a couple of weeks ago, and it was totaled, so we decided it was time to finally get our first new car.  I initially wanted the 6-speed manual, but we ended up going for the one with the Continuously Variable transmission.  It's kind of strange not hearing and feeling it shift gears when accelerating, but it's sooooo smooth.
