836 kit
« on: April 15, 2008, 05:20:14 PM »
found a kit for a 74 750 and cost $450
the kit included pistons and all but no cylinder jugs
don't you need new jugs if your going up to 836cc?

No but that's close to the limit. There's not a lot of meat left in the sleaves when you get around 836 and this causes them to run hotter than stock.

I would imagine it depends on what size your bores are now.
If they have been bored a few times, it'll not be as much as if they are still 736.
If you tell people where your location is you might get a local that can put you onto someone.

I just had my cylinders bored out for my 850 OB kit. The shop I took it to normally charges $53 per cylinder to bore. Due to the fact that I was having them take so much out, it was $75 per cylinder, or $300 for the whole job.
