Excellent bikes!

One or two weaknesses, but otherwise, very good.  Counterbalanced twin makes 'em comfortably smooth.

Check out:  http://www.kz400.com/  for an excellent website.

Also a very active worldwide forum support at:  http://www.armbell.com/kz400/index.php?sid=bc8f3f6ab7004bd704129f419b1f27ad&mforum=kz400

On that forum, are a number of excellent cafe projects documented.

I had a '74 for a little over a year and put over 10K miles on it.

Good luck!

They are an excellent bike!  I think the 1974 have the best looking tins, but since you are going to cafe it out, it doesn't matter.  If i could find a real nice 74 with the nice original red paint, I would probably buy it to relive a period of my life.

i'm gonna try and get as much as i can for it. it does have a title and 12,000 miles on the clock. however, there are a few boo-boo's i need to take care of before i put it up for sale. right now my biggest problem is new intake boots. one has a tear and is leaking a lot of air. i was thinking in the neighborhood of $750   to $1000. I have my parts to build my cb750 cafe but i'd really like to buy a welder too.
