Topic: CB500 fork boots with out stock headlight mounts.

Hello all,
 I`m a long time lurker and really enjoy the forum.
I am doing a mild cafe conversion / restoration on my 73 CB 500 Four. I`m using a set of custom, clamp on style head light mounts in place of the stock chrome ones. I want stick with the original fork gaiters but now have no where to fasten the top of the boot. Any tricks or tips would be appreciated. Perhaps I need alternate boots with a different top diameter ?

I found a piece of pvc that fit snug inside the boots and would slide over the fork legs and cut it to lengths of about 2 inches, slid them inside the top of the fork boots and glued them in place.
