Blinker Help
« on: August 15, 2005, 12:08:29 AM »
I have a 74 CB750K4 that I am finalizing on the restoration.  When I turn on the left blinker it blinks fast, but when I turn on the right blinker it blinks slow.  Any ideas.

Check the wattage of the bulbs. The rate of blink depends on the current flowing with these old blinker relays so if there are high wattage bulbs fitted the blink rate can go up. When you've got the correct wattage bulbs in it should be OK. Why not fit one of the modern electronic blink relays?

I had a similar problem with my 77 750K.  Check out this previous post from Kyre.  I put the flasher in last night seems to work well.  Check your wiring diagram, seems to work hooked up only one way.  I hooked it up right the first try, reversed the the leads to what would happen and it did not work.  Put them back and bingo.

this is the flasher I use. http://www.imperialinc.com/items.asp?item=0801350
3 prong, just ground the 3rd prong with that green wire that usually just hangs out. I switched because i'm putting LED's in soon, but for the normal bulbs it works great and no more delay.
