CB750 in Washington DC
« on: April 05, 2008, 03:31:16 PM »
Hi. I just purchased my first SOHC4 (a non-runner to be delivered this week) and most of my 'how to' google searches pointed me to this forum.  I'm excited and a little nervous about wrenching on this scooter since my experience is limited to passing tools to my stepfather, who was usually swearing at a small block chevy engine.

I plan on taking lots of pics and documenting every step of the way, so I hope I can contribute as much as I take away.

For starters, I'm documenting everything I purchase (at inflated DC prices) and everything I want in a nice little spreadsheet.  Hopefully it will be useful to others down the line as it's already quite extensive and organized by task (probably a little too organized).

I few things I have lined up in the coming weeks:
1. Clean out rusty gas tank
2. Clean carbs
3. Oil change
4. Battery and spark plug install
5. Rebuild front caliper

Sounds pretty basic to most, I'm sure.  But I'm a rookie, so it's all fairly new to me.

Cheers and cold beers,
Mike

Welcome to to the list.  I'm over in northeast.

Perhaps it's not a good idea to keep track of the $  ;)

Welcome from out in McLean, VA.  And listen to Pasty- don't keep track of the cash.  Do it because you love to curse the bikes.
Go metric, every inch of the way!

Spill! Good to meet you the other night. I agree - I stopped with the expense tracking on my Guzzi restoration a while ago, best to just estimate...
