I'm looking for the five-bolt dual-disc wire-spoke front hub. Just like in the above post by Calilao in the Philippines. This hub would be a critical improvement for my DOHC "CB900K0 Bol Bomber" project, so that I can keep the CB1100R vented 296mm rotors, or possibly even the CB1100RB dished one-piece 296mm rotors. I would pay through the NOSE for a hub like this, or trade for some of my Unobtainium parts if you like. 'Cause I'm sure there are ways to work around this problem and make stuff work with the 6-bolt front hubs, but the five-bolt rotors come in ALL available versions. Such as the CB750A five-bolt version of the regular SOHC CB750K front disc, 296mm - or the VF750F/VF1000F version with the Gold Boomerang rims, there was a slotted rotor with five-bolts, also 296mm. Plus GL1200 discs, vented with spiral grooves on the surface and the solid silver center-carrier otherwise similar to the GL1100A, CBX pro-link, CB1100R '82-'83 version of vented discs. Or the CB1100RB '81-only (only 1050 pairs of these rotors, plus spares, ever made! - but now available in replica form from Metalgear-AU!) TONS of different options. Meanwhile the SOHC-4/GL1000 front hubs with the 6-bolt pattern, & visually different but functionally identical '78 CB750K8 front hub - only offer the ONE type of 296mm rotors, being the original early-type CB750K0 single front disc. Fitted dual-disc on the CR750 only. And then several versions of 276mm such as GL1000, CB550 etc. Well, for the 276mm size the five-bolt hub offers several different forms. Plus 240mm discs from GL500 & certain CX500's. Plenty of options there.
So yeah - take a look at the above post by Cabilao and see what I mean:
CB750 P7,imported from Saudi Arabia to the Philippines, still under Restauration. Hope the Piston Rings and New Carb Boots arrive in the next days and i can finish it. Cross Country trip is already planned in August.
