K3 rear turn signals (winkers)
« on: April 26, 2017, 09:58:36 PM »
Hi all
On my slowly started project to restore my K3 I just worked through a problem. I bought new rear turn signals and mounting clips, they have the ground wire riveted to the clip. Right away I had an intermittent ground. I narrowed it down to the rivet. I drilled it out, cleaned off the paint, tapped the hole 8-32 and made a short screw to assemble it with. Works like a charm. I know it's not stock but NOS parts are hard to come by and I need to get the bike inspected.

I know, I thought about that but at the time I had the screws. At some point I am going to re-order the clips and maybe I won't have to do the mod, or if I do, I'll go get some metric screws. For good luck I have my lucky rucksack on the rack, been using it for many years.
