I found a free bike they said they have the title but never got it transfered to his name....what would be process to get this titled in your name...contact the last person titled or how would you go about this .

Hey Bobber,
here in Newfoundland Canada, I would ask the owner to register it and I would then buy/take it and register it.  :o
If not I would have to get in contact with the previous owner and have them write a Bill of Sale to me and then I would register it bypassing the current owner. ;)
I don't know where you live but that's how it would work here.

if they didn't sign the title, you can just sign it yourself.
if they did sign it, just get a bill of sale.
i've gone through this before. not a big deal. unless money is owed to the DMV.

I would think it all depends on whether the guy you got it from and if his name is listed as "buyer" on the title you have.  If so, then have him sign it and an application for title, and then have him "sell" it to you.  It may take a couple trips to him, but it will avoid any hassles at DMV.
Go metric, every inch of the way!

Up here, as long as the title has been signed by the listed owner there's no problem at all. Only time trouble shows up is if the date is over 15 days prior, then you have to pay an extra fee.

Otherwise as long as there is a title it's good.
