I started riding in 1983 because I decided to use my $400/semester BART (bay area rapid transit) money to buy my own transport. One ugly xt500 for $300. The xt died not long after because I didn't know that machines needed maintenance.
I used motorcycles as my sole mode of transport until 1995 when I moved to NJ. I started riding w/ zero gear, went thru the squid stages, atgatt stage and now I find myself slowly becoming more complacent. I ride a zrx1200 as my 'tool' and keep switching second 'toy' bikes.
My new 'toy' bike is a 74 cb550. I hope it helps me keep my rides more sedate. My wife hopes it will be my last 'last' bike.
