I'm trying to adjust the float level on my carbs (78 CB550, Keihin PD46C PJ). The problem or rather misunderstanding is that there is a tiny "holder" on the float arm tang that moves the shut off valve in and out of the passage. There is also a small plunger type thing inside the valve. So every time I move the floats, the valve moves with it because of the "holder".
How do I measure the float distance? And from where? The Clymer manual, uh, kinda sucks.
Confused? Ok good.
Also is the plunger supposed to move in and out of the valve? I assume so because all but one operates this way.
Any other secrets or tricks while in there?
Thanks.
