before you can add another shot of clear you must wetsand the previous clearcoat,try  maybe 800-1000 grit,this is for adhesion of the new clear,,don't f around with air spray guns when it comes to small jobs use SPRAYMAXX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! two part activated  clearcoat aerosol can,much easier to work with ,great #$%*tttttttttttttttt!,

Can you really get the same kind of glass smooth result with spraymaxx though? Most jobs I do now don't even need to be wet sanded or buffed afterwards with my Iwata LPH400LVX gun. I can't imagine a spray can matching the kind of atomization and spray pattern you get with a professional grade spray gun.

800 grit works perfect wet on clear if you are going to re-clear it. That's common practice for blend panels and refinishing in the automotive industry. Most places even just scuff it down with a grey scotch brite and that works fine. Just make sure you use grey, NOT maroon! The idea is you want the whole surface to look dull again so you know you are going to get good adhesion. Make SURE the clear is dry before you start scuffing though, oh and don't break through the clear if you didn't use a reactive reducer or hardner in the basecoat or you'll get lifting issues...

you'll be amazed how SPraymaxx sprays,less overspray gives it a nice wet look without the need to wetsand and buff,though you could if you wanted to,its the same type of clear chemicals used in guns,i opened up a used up can had a great super fine filtation filter for the clear, sort of the type of filter used for air dryers in compressor lines,the hardening agent is mixed in when you press the pin on the bottom of the can,shake the can for two minutes and you have 24hrs potlife ,,if you warm up the can abit the flow will be very good,just spary a fine tack coat wait 8 minutes spary another fine coat wait5 minutes and next do a wetter coat,you don't want a wet coat to fast you'll have runs,it dries pretty quick also it was drying in about 45 minutes though you must wait at least a week if you wanted to wetsand/buff,,its the only clear in a can thats gas resistant,made in Germany i think
