Topic: Paint inside the header

Bike is nearly complete and I'm ready to install the Kerker pipe. The instructions say to apply 2-3 coats of "white" high temp paint to the inside of each downpipe to avoid "bluing" of the chrome. The only white paint available to me is rated at 550 degrees. The 1200 degree stuff comes in flat black only. I imagine that Kerker specifies white paint to avoid painting the garage black on initial start-up. Anyone have any insight on which paint to use?

I used a product called Blue Shield made by Kreem.  This is a high temperature thermal insulating material which is applied as a liquid and dries to a ceramic-like coating.  I put this on a new set of pipes for my CB 500 and it has worked well.  There has been no discoloration of the chrome.  I have removed the pipes for other maintenance and found the coating to be completely intact.  I purchased the material at a bike shop.
