The Amen Saviour frame is actually pretty heavy, probably more than stock. That 750 chopper does not really have any lightweight parts on it..

Geez I remember back around 80, when 1080, his brother (turbo bike( and I were all building Amem Saviour bikes.

The turbo bike was built as a KZ 650 chopper, then he got the salvage bike for the motor and harness....the only thing they ever touched on it was the wastegate..pretty hard bike to modify without reprogramming everything.

I should mention we live in a town of approx 100 k pop. In the warmest part of our country..

And one of the highest toys per capita in NA..

Things like really state of the art 4x4s

Hot boats & cars.. like a single engine boat that did 123 or 125. another guy has a 6 sec DOORslammer Stang.. a 8 sec 1/4 mile sled, some pretty hot bikes....lots of really knowledgable folks building the stuff as well..

1080, now that is a real post with info. Thanks for that. Much to look at.

Yes, it made intresting reading. The web site it came from is owned by a guy I race with, lorcan Parnell.

I also raced with his father Kieth who was the first person in Europe into the 8s on a Triumph back in the 70s.

Kieth is 70 and still runs a ZX12R street bike that runs low 9s 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

An 8 second Triumph Sammy? What, did it fall down a 1/4 mile deep mineshaft? ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Jay Gleason absolutely hated the name "Pee Wee". It pissed him off to no boundaries. I spoke with him in the late 70's in a chance meeting and he detested it than. He has disappeared now.....into obscurity.

I guess Florida is like obscurity..... ;)

From another forum...

"Jay is living in Florida, wrenching bikes and personal watercraft, and recently started doing a bit of test & tune riding for the bike builders in his area, just for kicks.

I have been a friend of his since '82. Currently in progress on making a DVD of his TV appearances from the 80s.

I think he's considering making a comeback.  His recent RTs and ETs on the 1/8 mile have confirmed that he's still got it!  "

And here he is on You Tube riding a Vmax!

And some drag advice from Dale Walker....

Thanks Sam, I guess that means I've got at least 7 more years to keep pushing the bike speed envelope, although not to that extreme!!

He's a grand old guy Ekim, funny as hell ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Last year we were at a camp site. We were walking to the wash room, and as we passed by his camper van, we could hear him cussing inside.
We shouted in to him, "what's wrong Keith" he was cooking a meal and couldn't find the garden peas, he said he had seen them earlier but couldn't find them in the freezer.
On our way back, we asked if he had found them. "Yes he said, they were hiding behind my nitrous bottle" He freezes the bottle before filling it. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Ha ha, excellent link Sammy, and this sentence was rather ironic considering the recent two way stirring,

"The passion goes back more than half a century when as a teenager he clamped a 49cc, two-stroke, powerpack to the forks of his pushbike."

You see, all the really successfull land speed record holders know the value of the motorised bicycle! ;D
