front brake caliper interchange question
« on: August 16, 2005, 08:21:43 PM »
Does anybody know what other years and models used the same front brake caliper as a 71 CB500? The one that I have is all beat to hell by someone (not me!) trying to get it unstuck, and I don't think it can be saved. I have seen brake calipers on ebay from various years and models that look like they might be the same in the pics, but I don't want to bid not knowing for sure. Thanks. Dennis

I put a cb750 hondamatic front brake caliper on my cb550.  I changed everything from the rotor to the brake fluid reservoir.  They work fine after I rebuilt the caliper & reservoir.  This is a common problem with old cb's.
