Looks good!  I'm working on the same bike.  '78 750F.

I was going through your pics, but the carbs don't appear to be from a Supersport?

Looking Great there!  Is the frame a Silver color? Maybe Grey? either way it's great to see a some uniqueness!  I have a 77 supersport (750) and love what you are doing! Keep it up!
But I need Tacos!  I need them or I will explode!

no its actually a flat textured black.   The powder guys thought I was crazy, but I like the way it turned out, it different.  Its almost like the matte black that Harley uses.

The carbs just seem to be off an older K.

The jetting will be different than the stock 750F carbs.

Do you think I can use those carbs or should I seak out a "F" model set?

What are the major differences?

There are many differences between those carbs (which are late K0/early K1 carbs) and the later F carbs.

Later float bowls screw on instead of clip on

Later floats are plastic rather than brass.

Throttle linkages are completely different

Jetting is different

Jetting and throat size will be the only ones that cause any real problem, but that's enough to where you may be better off sourcing some 750F carbs.

I am 99% done with my 78 ss build, but we are having problems with the carbs! My mechanic friend cant seem to find a rebuild kit for the ss carbs, and is wanting me to shell out 600.oo for some new mikuni's. Do you guys have any advice? Im itching to get a little riding time in before the Vegas summer kicks into full swing. Can I use a rebuild kit for a K model? Any help would be great!

There are a couple of us...now I should say,I just got my bike on the road today! I bought the bike in sept. but I started building my shop in the middle of the build so the bike took a back seat, but it is done! I will post some pics tomorrow. The carb still has issues, but I will get a new set of smooth bore mikunis this summer
