cb750 K5 ID plate
« on: August 16, 2005, 03:34:46 PM »
Just got hold of a K5 yesterday and one of the rivets is missing and the plate is loose (rust etc). What type of epoxy glue would work under the metal plate and what type/kind of rivet head (very small round head) would one recommend to fasten it back? Thank You. I am sure someone has fixed this back to original??

Regards from Miami, Florida

My 550 had the frame powder coated by the PO.
The plate was refixed with two small self-tap srews.

I don't think you need rivets.

rivets are available from honda
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Hi bryanj:

Could you please give me more info on these rivets. What is it called? part number, size,  etc. Called two dealers and they had no clue where to find it. Are they just driven in with a hammer? What type of glue would one recommend? Contact cement/epoxy/JB weld??? Thanks to all.

From the K2 parts manual it's called a screw/rivet and the part number is 90841-001-000.  Hope this helps.
