« on: April 28, 2008, 08:57:57 PM »
I have a 75 cb550, when i start the bike and it runs, its runs real choppy, then starts to cut out and gas starts pouring out of the carb drain tubes? sometimes when giving it throttle the motor dies. could it be the floats are sticking? any info helps thanks again.

Very well could be.  Try tapping on the float bowls with the handle of a screwdriver to see if you can dislodge the stuck float/s.

Turn off the petcock and drain each float bowl into a clean, clear glass jar.  Is the fuel clean?  Any chunks in there?  Any water?  Is your gas tank clean?  Any holes in your fuel filter?
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

I had the same problem. In my case I had to readjust the floats and rebuild the carbs.
