carb sync adapters? 5mm? wher to get them?

i mistakenly bought 6mm carb sync adapters.

anyone know where i can find the correct size adapters for a 1976 cb550K?
1976 CB550K: stock airbox, cb650 cam swap, 4x2 exhaust, dual disc brake conversion.
1974 BMW R90/6

I bought these - 24003   Twinmax - 5mm adapter

Now  1972 CB350FX (experimental v2.0)
        1981 CB650c Custom with '79 engine (wifes)
        1981 CB650 engine
        2004 HD XL883C Custom
        1977 Yamaha XS750D (in progress)
Then 1972 CL175
        1964 Yamaha YGS-1T

can you believe the local cycle shop wants to sell me 5mm carb sync adapters for 13 dollars.... EACH???!!!!!

by the way...

since i have these nice 6mm adaptser that are "permanent" in that they have a rubber cap.... waht are peoples thoughts on tapping the 5mm itake manifold holes witha 6mm tap and using these instead?

I see no problem as long as there is enough metal for a larger hole.  Just be sure not to get any metal shavings in the engine or carbs.

I would recommend tapping to a larger size for those with the carbs off the bike.
And only stepping up 1mm, if you use a tapered tap, you should be fine.

You COULD drill it to tap drill size first, but thats going to make even more metal chips to deal with, beyond what the tapping will produce.
