identification help
« on: May 01, 2008, 02:22:26 AM »
ok so i bought a 74 cb750 last week after hunting for about 6 months. I paid 750 cash delivered. it doesn't run and i don't know anything about the history of the bike. i have been doing a lot of research and i am kinda confused. i hear a lot of talk about 750F and 750 k and 750 ss and to be honest i cant figure out which model i own. if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

G`day mate
Thats not an F, F0 was 75, thats a K ? (dont know the number, maybe 4) some-one will pop up to give you the right model.
If you look through the FAQ`s theres a link to a complet list of frame and engine numbers and what model they are from
Cheers mate

That's a K.  If you want to be absolutely sure of the model year, match up the VIN with the model guide on the main website.  You can check the engine number, too, to see if it's the same year as the frame.  Don't worry when the numbers don't match, they're not supposed to.

edit:  troppo beat me to it, but I'll post it anyway.

Spot on gordon, i thought it was in the FAQs instead of the website, got a memory like a sieve lol...
And dont worry if the year of the frame and the engine year dont match Void, unless your going for a concours restoration. These are after all 30 year old bikes, many would have replacement engines.

The frame and engine numbers won't match even if it's the original engine.

1974 cb750 would be a K4...  ;)
