1971 Grab bar(s)???

Am I crazy or did the 1971 K1 have only 1 small grab bar on the left side? I've looked over a few pics of completed restorations and seems to be 1 or none. Also, I've seen the rear turn signals with short stand offs of about 1 1/2" or without any stand off at all mounted directly to the bracket. I've seen both versions several times, which is correct?
After a winter of recovering from a long illness I'm psyched to be back working on my K1. The motor's done and I'm amassing parts for the final assault!! ;D

The rear signal brackets/mounts have a short stub on them that the goes directly into the signal. Download a copy of the K1 parts book available on the forums, it's a great help.

 You are not crazy and it is only the one on the left side. It is still available from Honda as I just got one. It was around $40.00 or so.

Yes, same as the KO.  I was looking at my KO and it really looks like something is missing on the side without it.  So I bought one for the other side to as it just looks better.  I know, it is not stock or to OEM, but if I go to a show I will take it off easily.  My bike and my personal taste I guess.  That chrome rail just looks nice on both sides.

Thanks Phil...I thought I may get a few negative comments since it was not OEM with that rail.  But like I said, our bikes are suited to our taste be it OEM or cafe.  Now that I have my newly painted candy apple red tins back, I am also having trouble putting that oil sticker back on the KO side cover.  I figure I should let that paint cure a while anyway.  Just looks so nice and clean at the moment with no sticker there.  Ah, the woes and decisions of restoration... ;D

Thanks everyone for your answers and comments. I agree it's a matter of taste and I may end up w/ 2 grab rails also...just nice to know how Honda did it.

 I guess that is always the risk you run when you own a bike that is truly an Icon, but something as simple and FACTORY like the grab rail shouldn't cause anyone any pain. It can be removed in about a minute if the need arises. As long as you don't paint your bike some weird non factory color or put a 4 into 1 Kerker on it, I am digging it!

When are you going to post some pics of the new paint? That is definitely my favorite color  ! My bike is Candy Gold which is my 2nd favorite color and probably a whole lot less prone to fading.

Phil...below is a sample of the candy apple red side cover.  I will post more pictures when I get it done.  I have the fork ears on, forks and tires.  This weekend I tackle getting the headlight bucket and wiring bullets connected again.  Then the bars, front fender meters, etc.  I will post new pics when I get it complete.
