The rider must have really long arms! Reminds me of what we did with the bars on our Huffys a long, long time ago. Wasn't smart then either. ;)
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

Those are ape-hangers. Had a set on my Monster Suzuki GT250. I looked so cool. ;D

Ok, obviously the driver must have not tightened the bars just before he had to make a panic stop.

Those are ape-hangers.

Not strictly "ape hangers" but rather "six bend" handlebars.  Very popular in the 70's chopper scene.

Yeah, I think I had 10 speed with bars like those back in the late '70s

It looks like the bars are flopped forward, look at the mirror on the left side, it's facing forward, I would think that if you are tooling around with the bars like that deliberately you would at least point he mirror in he right direction.

Indeed, I was also noticing the hairpin turn that the throttle cables take when looping around the bottom of the bars, they'd bind up like crazy in that position.

Not that I think that rotating them back would help their appearance much lol!

Well considering that the front master cylinder is just hanging down beside the front wheel, is it safe to assume that he/she (well it is a 550, after all, and chicks dig 'em.............) is in the process of either installing, or (hopefully) removing those bars? ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Only a moron would have bars like that ,and besides it is an insult to a HONDA. I suppose they are good enough for a Harley.
