How keen is their hearing? You could disrupt their audio receptors with a high frequency sonic attack.

Nah, that'd never work.

They'd tell all their beaver friends about it, and the next thing you know, you've got a beaver commune in your backyard.

Then again, slip enough LSD into their water supply and they might try building their dams on top of flagpoles.  At least that would keep your yard from flooding...

I recently got a dog from the SPCA, a 40lb super mutt (no one can even guess at his origins) named Cooper, and he didn't seem like much of a hunter.  He likes to sniff wild animals, no chasing or raised hair.  So we had a problem with groundhogs burrowing under our shed.  One day I hear rustling in the woods, and out comes Cooper holding a 35lb groundhog (big sucker) by its broken neck.  After much praise and treats and chest pounding by me.  I dug a 3 foot hole and burried him in the back yard.

P.S. Those gangster films aren't kidding, burying the groundhog was an hour of backbreaking labor, never kill a human in the hopes of burying them somewhere without help of a big burly friend.

How did you keep Cooper in the hole?  Must'a been well trained in the "stay" command. :-\

I guess you can always get another dog from the SPCA.

Sorry been real busy w mc's etc etc.

Beavers are still in the pond at the bottom of my driveway. Sprayed WD-40 on all trees I could near my property, before the rains (which have been daily for past 16 days). Strung up 35mm canisters of cotton soaked Coyote & Bobcat urine, about 12-24 inches from the ground between my property and beavers.

They haven't cut down one tree on my land since. The beavers are now going downstream and chopping the larger trees they used to ignore.

Pisser HuH?   ;)

peace,
michel
