New from VA
« on: April 30, 2008, 08:36:44 AM »
Hey all, I just picked up a basket case '76 750f. Ive been looking for the right deal for about 2 years and finally something came up i couldnt pass up. I picked it up sat. and its already been taken mostly apart. One of the spark plugs had been stripped so with needing that repaired or possibly a new head, the whole bottom end might as well be rebuilt. this was my long awaited Cafe project and i couldnt be more stoked to finally be able start it.... pics coming soon.

Welcome. Do you prefer to be called "lowlife" or "RVA"? ;-) Good luck on your cafe project; it sounds that you've been planning it for some time.

Welcome :)

Far be it for me to dissuade someone from rebuilding their engine, but have you looked at these?

TIMESERT® SPARK PLUG REPAIR KITS AND INSERTS

I used these successfully on a CB350 without disassembling the motor.

HAHA sooo true.  Thanks guys... inserts wont work... someone tried to bore it out and its to close to the valve seat to risk it.... Time for a new head... I dont want to have to do it twice, ya know?
