Place your bets!
« on: August 17, 2005, 04:30:09 PM »
I got a yellow slip in my mailbox today. That means that I have a package at the post office.

I am not expecting anything so I am wondering if it is the parts that I have been waiting for for three weeks from Sales@oldhondasneverdie.com. But I doubt it.

I will not remove the thread. However I will alter it accordingly. It will depend on the post make date on the package as to the alteration.

Three weeks is unacceptable when I was told it would take three days.

Totally off subject buffo, but this board wouldnt let me send you a private message:

buffo where did you get that seat you have on your bike? I really like it. I got the 78 stock seat, but would rather have yours  ::) Anyways if you bought it somewheres let me know. How come your bike looks so much cooler than mine? You got a 1978 CB750K right? Same as mine, close to the same color too....but yours looks way better. How come? What mods have you made other than the seat and loosing the back fender?

Thanks for the great review!!!

The seat is an aftermarket oem replacement i think. It had the same THICK foam and curves as yours. I didnt like the puffyness so I stripped off the vinle and foam. and took it to an upholster shop. i had them put 1 1/4 inch of high density foam and a smooth vinal cover with no stiching at all. they glued it with some type of speciality glue. no staples or trim.
The name on the bottom of the seat says "Leo" I dont remember where i got it.

I replaced the front brake master cylinder with a new nissin one. Black with a 14mm piston. smae one on the new ninja's

replaced the clutch perch combo unit with a aftermarket perch for a honda CR dirt bike. Black

used a universal turn signal combo switch. black

4 into 1 RC muffler...but I removed the muffler

no chain guard

Dunlop Elite II 491's front and rear

New Dyna ignition, dyna coils and wires

K$N oem replacement filter

Removed center stand

clubmans

No turn signal lights

removed seat bar. the chrome bar that goes around the seat

cut the frame about 5 inches short. where the rear fender used to go

I think that is all... for now

next to come is duel front disks

It may be illegal to not have turn signals...I dont like them so I dont run them.

Because of the small amount of space between the rear wheel and the seat I had to buy  a licence plate frame with running and brake lights built in...no they are not dot legal. they are small and not as bright as they should be but they look cool...part number 50-3020 from dennis kirk. I put it on upside down and mounted it up-inside the back of my seat pan.

In VA at least, you don't have to have signals, but if they're there, they have to work.  You do have to use hand signals in that case or you get the same ticket.
