thanks so much.
ive dragged my feet for a while on this build but now its in full swing.

im ok with it taking time becuase im trying to do everything right and the best i can.

ive learned so much from the guys here, they have been such a huge help

this buffing thing is really not that hard.  i started to sand them but then just tried on bare on the wheel and it smooths it out very nice,  they are almost looking like mirrors.

winner!

yup,  my buddy was running a MK2 jetta with a VR6 T pushing 20psi.  fun car,  they it popped.  i cleaned up and painted the block.  it makes a great coffee table.  its heavy though...lol
its cool because i drive a R32 and guys always want me to explain the VR6 thing so its easier to just point to the motor in the living room,  explaining how the DSG trans works is way harder though.  Hell the girlfriend things its cool too

Heh; I've certainly yarded out my share of popped VR's over the years.  Heavy sum#$%*es is right; I can't think of a better use than a coffee table.  ;D

another friend just finished a corrado build.  27psi and 425whp.  fun car.  but pointless off the line.  my R32 was running 13.8, 13.9 all day every pass.  he was all over the place.  his best was a 13.4 at 125mph...like i said nothing off the line.

got my new front fender from the guys at glass from the past
it fits nice under the tarizzo fork brace.
going to try and find something that looks nicer then hose clamps to mount it with

also tossing around the idea of having these guards coated black and using them.  im not really sure yet.  i kind of like them
what do you guys think?

the controls are coming along great.  ill post pics when they are done.

also still trying to figure out if i want to have the masters coated when i send the calipers out.

i hope this week i can get the damper mounted and start crossing more things off the list

what would people suggest as for drive?  630? 530?  others?  i want to run a light weight rear sprocket but im not use of ratios yet.
plan to have a hot motor built so i would need gears that work with the motor but i dont know how to pick whats best.

ordering this week
hella supertone horns
hella H4 headlight
DDM HIDs
OEM seals and other parts that i need
Stainless braided lines

Looking real good Jag.

Did you get the tarozzi fork brace from Fast from the past?  I am tossing around the idea of picking one up and having it powder coated gloss black to match my forks and going with out a front fender.

my Hella headlight came in.
need to see how to fit it to the stock housing.

tried to mount the steering damper but i had a 1 1/2 clamp not a 1 1/4.....so i ordered the right one, it should be here by the end of the week
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3-Piece-Frame-Clamp-Harley-1-1-4-Frames-/130384911070?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e5b8bdade#ht_555wt_884

im starting to think about gearing and sprockets.
i want to run and alloy rear sprocket but not sure what pitch(is that the right turm? IE 520, 620, 630)
what do you guys think?  and what size sprocket?
the motor will be a fully build hot street/race set up.
atleast a 836.
goal on any motor build would be near 90HP.
i search all the time for blower set ups but so far they have been either junk or crazy money.

as far as what chain to use i think everyone on here is running 530 or 630. I have 530 on my 550 and 630 on my 750. That 630 is real big and heavy. I would go away from that as long as the 530 can handle the power. This might be a good question for the high performance thread. See what they are running.

Many modern bikes run 520 chains, so they will also do for the cb750.
Now i see why you were asking about my brakes  ;) Nice build!

Re: Front Fender Mount. Yeah I tossed around the needle fender for my project as well. I've used one in the past and the hose clamps could not be counted on to hold it in place. You may have already thought of this, but you could make a gently curved bracket that would bolt to the cross piece of the fork brace and run the direction of the tire about 4 inches fore and aft of the brace. Then fasten the needle to the ends of that bracket. I've seen this done and it looks way cool. Nothing on the fork legs. Fender comes off with the brace crossover.

Similarly I'm using my fork brace to hang my front fender though I'm going with a conventional steel/chrome road type fender.

re: engine guards: I'm using them as well, mine are 3 point but thats a detail. I've suffered trip ending tip overs in the past that case guards would have protected. You may know this already, but to do it right you'll need a longer motor mount bolt in the lower case guard position. The factory case guard mount was a weak design: discard all washers and nuts, run the bolt in from the left. The rt side guard is threaded and you tighten the motor mount bolt in to that. But there really aren't enough threads to take a good tightening without striping. You can use instead a length of all-thread with nuts on both ends. I had a new bolt made by a machine shop with enough length to go all the way though the case guard and take a flat, lock and nut.

i have to see about the bolts for the guards.  good thinking
i sent them out to be coated with the same black some of my other brackets were

i thought about hanging the fender like you talked about.
you have pics on how you did it?
the clamps seem to hold it tight.  was going to use some double stick tape in the legs to help hold it in place

Double stick tape will help. But riding it 20 miles down a bumpy road is the test.

Here's mine. It is steadied by the lower brace. It is a CB350F fender, which had an 18" wheel, on an 18" wheel. (I reduced the size of my front wheel) Looks just like the stock 19" except smaller. Obviously this fender was bobbed in the front. I've got one from a salvage yard with the front brace on it too if i want to go that way. But for now I like the bobbed front.

But back to the brace. I drilled out the rivets on the stock fender, and ran 2 bolts up thru it from the bottom into the brace crossover. That way no interference with the brake brackets. My fork brace is much different from yours it had to be made as the top of the fork legs are lower than the top of the tire.

Since yours has no lower bracket, and you'll need some sort of bracing, you would come off the crossover with a curved piece running in the direction of the tire, bolted to the crossover, curved to the tire. Then bolt the needle fender to the curved piece. Removing the fork leg tabs, it would look really clean to my eyes.

parts should be back from the coater this week.  im excited to get the brakes all finished and cross off something else from the "to do" list.

still thinking about motor specs and what to build.  and mostly putting money away to build it.

also on the list is ordering a rear tail light, figuring out turn signals and getting the HID set up.  then i can cross lights off the list too

one other thing is getting the CR tank to work and find a good way to mount it.  (really should have done this before the frame was coated.)
the fuel pung is in the middle of the tank at the rear.  not sure if it will clear the stock battery in the tray.....maybe i need to run a light weight battery now....

How much lighter are those lesters then stock? I am thinking of going lesters or running my akront alloy rims
