I remember the good old days in the UK when you always got a full tank when you bought a new vehicle, and the first service was free. Sigh!

When I worked in the Polaris dealership and ran by my boss the idea of a full tank with every purchase of a brand new Victory (wow, what a marketing concept) he looked at me as if I was insane!

Having a conscience is a good thing.

most of my "off" time is now take up by our 4 month old boy, and he's still a little too small to take on the back of a bike! ;D ;D

As soon as his feet can reach the pegs, he's right there with me!! :)

 :-[ :-[ :-[

I guess I'm a BIG prick, then.  I sold a motorhome a few weeks ago (to a complete stranger, tho), and it had a full 35 gallon tank.  I had filled it up at the end of our last trip, before we made the decision to even sell it.

I siphoned as much as all my vehicles around would hold - 3 bikes, boat, wife's car, my truck, lawnmowers and all the plastic gas cans I own.  As it happened, most everything was already nearly full, so I only got about 20 gallons out all togther.

I guess I could've called my father-in-law over, too...

if you are having ethical questions now, wait until the Mad Max scenario happens and we are all constantly fighting over drops of the precious juice.

I stand correctimicated.

In my defense, I'd make the case that:
1) The movie was also titled "Mad Max II."
B) Gordon is not a prick: big, little, ethical or otherwise.

What the fark is "The Road Warrior"? Oh, that's right, that's what "Mad Max" was called in the US...............  :P

I just did that "Humungus" speech in my best Mickey Mouse voice, and made myself laugh, I did! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Mad Max was called Mad Max. The Road Warrior was the first sequel and Beyond Thunderdome was the second. Interesting series altogether and the source of most of our knowledge about the people and culture of Australia.

All the good names were destroyed in the armageddon too.

Hence, "Aunt Entity", "Humungus", "Master Blaster", "Jedediah" et. al.

A lot of the people that enjoyed the first two seriously hated Beyond Thunderdome...it was just too far off of the storyline to really mesh into it.

That too! However..the main issue with it was its story was set about 100 years after the events of The Road Warrior. So thats saying one of two things...either the writers didnt realise it or they have made Max Immortal lol..

I've never even considered "Thunderdome" to be a part of the Mad Max/Road Warrior story.  I'm glad Mel found something else to do soon afterwards (ie: the never-ending Lethal Weapon saga) so he'd stop trying to squeeze any more money out of it and ruin the whole thing, like Stallone did to Rocky.

I don't know that Mel had anything to do with it Gordy.

"Mad Max" certainly launched Mel's career in the US with the "Lethal Weapon" series being his first "Big" US movie success', but Kennedy/Miller (the creators/producers/directors) were probably responsible  for trying to squeeze all the money out, I don't think Mel had a financial interest, apart from obviously, his fee. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Now that we are far in the bushy outback territory of the off-topic...  ;D
I have a lot of respect for Mel for progressing from crappy movies to really interesting movies, and directing. He did much better here than, for example, Stallone.
